Spoiler

I received the spoiler advertised here: http://forum.4adrive.com/t2660-s.html

From what I can tell the quality is very good so far. We'll see how the intallation goes.

The only strange thing is that I expected it to be black, and it's white. Weird.

Looks good. I wanted a spoiler from when I first got my car, but it was to expensive. And after hearing stories about fiberglass not fitting right, well, I just put in on the back burner...
Can't wait to hear how you make out DR...good luck!

Maybe the guy at the forums thought you had the old Caprice and gave you a white one to make it easier on you?

Are you gonna paint it first or put it on now and paint later?

If'd still have my white Caprice the spoiler would already be on.

I'm going to paint it first, otherwise it'll look weird. And while at it, I'll do some other body work that I wanted to do for a long time now.

It's probably coated in primer.

Spoiler

I wonder if they are shipping this as a base color to work with? I'll buy one for my white 95 9C1.

Hi, I'm the one who makes the spoilers. I thought I could explain why it is white. When we first started making them, we were using a different kind of urethane resin that was gray. In this business, it takes time to tweek the mold so it works properly.Usually changing injector and vent locations until you get a perfect part. Until the process is perfected, it is very common to get imperfections like air bubbles in the edges and around the vent locations. These imperfections must be grinded down and filled with an OEM approved epoxy plastic repair system. This process is tedious and very costly. After the repairs are done, we would have to sand and prime the spoiler. The spoilers were usually primed in a black primer. Now that we have perfected the process, they are coming out perfect every time, and there is no need to prime them. The new white urethane is much better than the old gray type. As with any urethane plastic though, it's best to paint it with an automotive paint to give it more UV protection even if your car is white.

Ah, thanks for the information.

My car was supposed to get painted today, but now I can't dig it out of all the snow. And I even got up early today to drop it off at a body shop. Don't know what to do now... Probably will have to wait some more.

Impala SS Spoiler

Did you drill the holes and test fit your Spoiler yet?

No, I want to do it all at once. The car is kept on the street, so now I'd have a full trunk of snow / water. The painting has been put off yet for another week now because of the snow.

Dude, what does a steering wheel has in comon with body work? You, as always, confuse me.

I have a black steering wheel in the trunk waiting to be installed. I've got to get SIR coil from Feliks first though.

How goes it with the spoiler? I'm dying to see it.
Hope it looks as good as I think it will.

Sorry guys, I keep postponing it. That's because of the snow and really cold weather. It's probably better to wait until weather gets a bit better.

I'm not a body work expert, but from what I understand, you shouldn't paint when it's to cold.
Something about the paint not bonding right, I think.
Besides, it would suck if You just got all done and then some idiot slid into You.
Over the past few days, I've seen several Impala SS'. The more of them that I see, the more I love the way that rear spoiler looks.

As long as the person who is painting your car has a heated shop the paint job should stick just fine. At the shop where i work we'll bring in a car and do the prep work while its still cold but, it has to sit in the shop for a day or so to get up to room temp before we spray it.

Have you had a chance to check the fit yet, and are you satisfied with what you can tell about the quality?
