Anyone know where I can get a good price on O2 sensors and an E.G.R. valve?
I'm looking at $68.00 ea for sensors, and about $50 for the E.G.R.
$170.00 is a bit steep for something when I'm not sure if it's a problem or not.
I just orerd some 02 sensors from Dal, I dont remember the exact price because I had ordered a few other things but I know its way chaper than $68 dollars. I beleive it was in the $30's

Haven't done anything yet because I'm a lazy slug.
Another question, I seem to get conflicting answears on the internet, does the PCM with OBDI store and flash codes for the O2 sensors?
I've found that the OBDII does check the O2 sensors.
I'm assuming that the the OBDI does, but I'm not sure.
I've decicde to block off the EGR for now, so I'm not really concerned about that.
So far the cheapest O2 sensor that I can find for the Caprice,(4 wire), is about $54.
I'd rather put that $108 somewhere else in the car if I can.
it doesn't store the codes, and wont necesserely throw a CE light, but when you scan the car you'll be able to tell the diff how they fluctuate.
I think it's very important to replace O2 sensors if they have 60k+ on them. The best way to see if they are in good condition is to scan the pcm. Their readings should fluctuate between 100 and 900 (approximately) several times a second. Dal sells them for 35 each, I believe. New O2 sensors will save you more money than they cost after a brief period of time by improving the gas mileage.

just wondering.....speaking of 02's i have been having a prob w/ smelling gas fumes in the cabin...it passed emmisions a couple weeks ago with no problem. though it was doing it prior to that....could it be the o2 even if no codes r coming up...it is most noticable if i give it 3/4 throttle and punching it...wont do it otherwise....no nown exhst.. leaks..

Possible fuel leak.
Or the fuel is not being completely burned.

I tried deleteing the EGR, actually I unplugged it.
Made the car back fire.
Put it back on, runs fine.
Think I'll leave it alone 'till I can get it tested.
