View Full Version : BMW bmw x5
I just recently got a K & N Intake on my 95, so of course I'm figuring since I have a couple more horses under my hood, about 275 hp, then I'm straight, but anyway I am on RT 50, going towards Bowie, about 2am, I am doing about 90mph, when I see two sets of headlights coming very fast, I speed up to about 115mph, and these MF, were still coming, you would never believe who was winning that race by about 10 car lengths, It was a BMW X5 halling ass, smoking a Monte Carlo SS, that BMW must have a high end gear ratio or something because he blew past me and maintained at 130mph, all the way to Bowie, has anyone on the forum ever raced a X5 from the line?
Monte Carlo SSs are pretty slow...

Hey Stomp, the new Monte's are definitely not like our LT-1 Caprices, but I still like 'em. I rented the LS trim a couple of times in MO and it moved to 110 adequately and handled the sweepers nicely. I really liked the fit, a very "cockpit" feel. Just had to get used to the low rearview.

The only Monte Carlo SSs that I acknowledge were built 88 and down. Everything after that is just a Lumina with 2 less doors. And yes the 80s SSs were slow. stock... with a 350+... :D Full frame, 2 doors.... oh ya too bad Chebby didnt make a 2 door 90s Caprice or Impala SS... damn got to go clean the drool out of my keyboard again...
i know i would drool all over myself if i seen a 90's 2dr caprice
