Alright, so I don't have a caprice, but my buddy Jer does. We were at the batting cages and this guy with a 79 Trans Am calls up. He wants to race. The car looks like the one out of Smokey and the Bandit. We all get to the place, and I was in a van with three other people while they raced. First run: Trans Am spins the tires and the caprice puts 4 carlengths on him by 80. Run 2: TA gets a better start, and it's a lot closer but the caprice has the TA by about 1 carlength. Run 3: Race til ~100, and the TA pulls on the caprice in 4th gear. 2 out of 3 ain't bad.
Jer just has a homemade intake and the resonators cut off from the exhuast on his caprice. And the TA had a stick shift with 3.73's and a posi and the guy wasn't driving it very well. I just thought it was pretty freakin' cool to see the caprice 9c1 outrun a muscle car like that. Can't wait til I get my caprice.
