I guess mine has the 4R70W tranny (V8 LX) ...
1. Well when reversing it seems that it is slipping, doesn't really grab and move the car. I can go reverse though, but really slowly and you can feel it is just licking those clutches ...
2. Also when in 1st gear position (not the first gear in D position) I get no engine breaking, feels like coasting in neutral. It's fine if in 2nd gear position.
3. When I floor it the shift between 1st and 2nd is pretty jerky, I get wheelspin many times ... it's OK and smooth in higher gears. The shift is somewhat jerky also if I accelerate normally ... but there is no noise or bang some other people have described ...
I already took it to an AAMCO shop and they drove it around and said that it's probably a servo that pushes the belt onto a drum or somewhere ... the belt might be bad too
Since I know 0 of trannys please if someone has experience or an idea of what might be I would appreciate it ... and how much $$$ should I start saving
Is AAMCO ok for this kind of stuff? They are pretty expensive, just the fluid change and external adjustment is around $100
