A friend of mine at work has gotten himself a Dodge full size pick up. 1998.
Very nice truck. Black with running boards, the Dodge Ram symbol in red on the back window, real expensive type driving lites, ect.
We were all in the parking lot looking at it one day, saying how nice it is, like that.
Later I found that when I left, He started talking about how fast it is, He could beat anything on the lot, so on.
" Alec,(me), thinks His car is so fast, just wait....."
Question.
Should I just forgette about it, or put Him in his place?
I'm sure that it can move, it has a 318 hemi. Damn good engine, but I'm not worried about that.

even with the 318 ram is too damn heavy to keep up with you.
one of my buddies was talking wack before he really got to know what my car can do. saying that his 95 maxima with a stick will smoke me. "heck" he said "i'll even race you for a 100 bucks to make it interesting". but i was stupid enought to show him what was under the hood before the race, you should have seen his jaw fall to the floor. one guy there was like, i still got my money on you gesha(the maxima owner), and gesha was like if you plan on keeping your money, bet on him :D.

Dude, the Ram regular cab 1500 4*2 pickup is only 4586.00 lb. If this is close to your friend's, it isn't much heavier than the Caprice. Pickup also have very little weight over the driving wheels, but some do have four-wheel drive which would make a big difference. Did you say it's a 1998? I thought the hemi was a recent add-on to the Ram.:confused:

Even if the weight is dead even, I'm still not concerned.
Rams (full size ones anyway), are still geared to be actuall trucks.
Pulling heavey trailers, big loads, fat people, like that.
I'd still take him I think. Remember the guy with the Altima that I creamed? He got by the truck with just a little work.
I'm not going to bet money. I want to keep it friendly.
Now if He should ask for a small wager, that would be completely different.:D

Doesn't he realize that if the Altima beat the Ram and you beat the Altima, that you should beat the Ram? Or did you let the Altima guy keep his pride and not tell anybody?

I didn't really say anything to anyone, but I know that Mr. Altima told the truck dude, because I heard him.
Mr. Ram said something to the effect of .."when I raced You I was being nice."
Three times by at least three lenghts?
No one is that nice.
I'm not going to try to wax him to hard.
He's one of the dispatchers. He can make me have a really bad day if he wanted to.
