I'm not sure if my power stearing problem is related to my water pump leaking on the belt? The power stearing went out 2 weaks before I noticed the water pump leaking. Alls I now is that it seams fine while I'm drive but but wont stear while in neutral or without revving the engine while in drive. If I'm slowing down at a stop light the stearing gets stiff. If I need to purchase a new Power stearing pump or unit wheres the cheapest or what do you recomment? Could be anything else, hopefuly some simple?

I would dare say without looking at it personally, yes. With many miles and no fluid changes, the power steering pump is usually a forgotten part of the automobile.

Try flushing and refilling it first, if no improvement, replace it. Just remember to always blow out the lines completely.

If it's not low fluid causing the problem, then I'd say that there is a partial block in the line somewhere.
Or a small leak, possibly internal, thet allows presseur to escape at low rpm., Not allowing sufficiant pressure to build up untill You get some revs. going.
I don't know if these pumps are something that You can rebuild Yourself or not.
Probibly best to get a new or rebuilt one. Possibly even one from a bone yard.
There is special tool needed to get the pully off of the pump shaft.
It's very simple, also very expensive.
Take the pully and pump to a local shop that has such a tool, and they should pull it off for a few bucks.
The bad news is, allthough unlikely, the problem could be a block somewhere else in the system.
That is the thearoy. I personally have never run accross that.

Mine didn't leak fluid when it went out in December. It also whined really loud if and when I was able to turn. Same with the high revs allowing me to turn. If you can, try to do it yourself... it was too cold and I didn't have the time and ended up paying something like 380 dollars.
