Ok my water pump is starting to leak and I'm going to instal the electric one thats been sitting in my garage. What do I have to do to my old one in order to instal the new one? I remember hearing something about bearings needing to be pressed:confused:. I'm a little confused on this I was hoping it would be plug and play. What do I ask a local mechanic to do? I have the painless wiring kit to go with it.

You'll have to remove the impeller and a bearing from the casting using a tap and a hammer. It should be pretty easy unless the pump is really old. Then, you'll have to plug the hole with the provided freeze plug.

If you have a CSI pump you'll have to do several notches on the waterpump housing. Meziere doesn't need any modifications to the housing.

Make sure to use a relay and a fuse.
