i am not sure if the 94 caprice that the pcm is out was a 5.7 or not, but i don't think matters does it?

Dude, it's OBD, not OBI - at least I think so.

Now you need to get LT1_edit, and the cable for your laptop. And then you can do stuff with OBD :).

Here's a link for the conversion process: http://hometown.aol.com/protools4/odbPCM/pcmks1.htm

you saying that we won't be able to put in the pcm without the LT1 edit?
even if it was originally programmed for the LT1 engine?
or if we get it reprogrammed?

No, LT1 Edit is just LT1 edit. If the pcm is correctly programmed (meaning it came from the caprice - I'm not sure on LT1 - L99 differences PCM wise), then it shouldn't be a problem.

If the PCM came from L99 caprice, it will need to be reprogrammed. If it came from a civilian LT1 caprice it won't have to be reprogrammed but you'll get lower idle, lower shift points and ~110 mph speed limiter.

The physical connections are pretty much the same. However OBDII caprices come with 2 knock sensors, therefore the connector has to be bridged.

it was a 5.7 engine i don't know if it was a police pkg or not, i'll have to clarify.

so bridging connections are the only changes that have ot be done?
thanx

Yes, otherwise all the connections are the same.
