I've been trying to post this for 3 days now, every time that I start someone needs my complete attention for something fairly annoying.
One more time.
I was working with one of my favorite partners last week, and as usuall we were talking about cars.
He has a late 90's suburban with a new 350, and it really is pretty fast for a vehicle that big.
He also has a Nissan Ultima. About the same year. He was telling me how fast and nimble it was, and how He beat this Mustang.
I know that Mustang. 80 something 4 banger.
He started about how He could at least keep up with my car. Mabey even pull ahead. Well, his Ultima is alot lighter than my Caprice, so just mabey off the line He could get out in front for a little bit. Mabey.
It started when He used the word smoak.
Moast of You know me well enough by now to guess my responce.
Not just no, but HELL NO!
I know this long straightaway, little traffic and hardly ever any Cops. After work, Right? Right.
As we were pulling in to base, He suddenly remenbers something increadibly important He was supposed to do after work. Surrrrre.
Having a little time to kill, I decided to stop by the car wash.
I was just pulling out, when to my suprise, there goes a familiar looking Ultima.
I pulled out behind Him and kept a good distance. Not hidding, all part of my master plan.
He lives out on one of the islands, on the way to His place is an even better straightaway.
As we approached the road in question, I backed off a little more.
He got to the straight away I put Her low in the last curve and punched it.
He had had a quater mile or so on me. I backed off a little to stay in the curve, then I hit the straight and the gas at the same time.
I caught up fairly quickly. As I approached He floored it. When I passed Him my speedometer read 103.
I glanced in the mirror just long enough to see His car rock to the right and move over half a lane.
I approached the end of the straight and braked pretty hard. A little tire squeal, then the anti-lock kicked in.
I took a curve rated at 50 about 70, glad that I got that sway bar.
When He got to his house I was sitting in his driveway smaoking a ciggerette.
As He walked by, He said through the open driver's window, "nice car.", went inside and turned the porch lite out.
The next day at work, He would not even talk about cars except to say, "Ok, the caprice is faster."
I plan to give him hell for quite a wile.:D :D
